Free Tape (2014)

free_tape_2Early drafts for conceptual audio edition @ Tapeworm. Back in the Summer of 2014, Philip Marshall was immersed in preparations of The Tapeworm cassette label’s 5th anniversary, to take place at Cafe OTO in September. I was invited to join the hostilities as Autodigest, and came up with the idea of a “shell-less” cassette edition to be given away to those in attendance that night. And so “Free Tape” was born, given a catalog number – and roamed around OTO’s floors, tables and pockets on that truly special September night. Dale Cornish proceeded to nominate Free Tape as “Best Release of the Year”.  Thank you Dale, you got it, as you do.
